2014 World Conference against A&H Bombs and “No Nukes!” Women’s Forum 2014 in Hiroshima
From August 2 through 9, the 2014 World Conference against Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs was held in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. As many as 10,000 people, including Ms. Angela Kane, U.N. High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, representatives of national governments, and NGOs in anti-nuclear and peace movements from all parts of Japan as well as abroad, participated in the conference. The participants confirmed their commitment to make the 2015 NPT Review Conference to be held next Spring coinciding with the 70th year of the A-bombings a decisive opportunity to achieve ” a nuclear weapon-free world”. The conference was filled with determination to block the attempt to make Japan a country “waging war abroad”.
